Recipe for friendship

“Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It’s not something you learn in school. But if you haven’t learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven’t learned anything.” – Muhammad Ali

At Lifelong Learning Centres we place an emphasis on encouraging Healthy Families by developing emotional confidence in children through social connections, and by encouraging the appreciation of the people around us.

One of the ways we are doing that across our centres today is by celebrating International Day of Friendship (July 30 2019).

With the growing popularity of social media there has been an increase in celebrating World Friendship Day and International Day of Friendship online as well as with community activities in local communities aimed at bringing those of different backgrounds together.

One activity underway today at Kids Academy Preschool is ‘A Recipe for Friendship’.

“The recipe for friendship is where children write down certain traits about their friends or what they love about them,” says centre manager Lauren White.

“The children are then going to pretend they are putting all of these ingredients into a big bowl and mixing it up to make one big friendship!”

We can’t wait to see what the children have to say about the ingredients for  friendship!

Questions to ask on your family centre tour

When touring childcare centres for the first time it can be overwhelming.

As the saying goes, ‘first impressions’ count, but taking the time to ask deeper questions and really find out what your early education and childcare centre has to offer you and your child will always be time well spent.

Day for Daniel

Across Australia, we are recognising Day for Daniel as part of National Safe Work Month. Day for Daniel is Australia's largest day of action to help raise awareness of child safety, a cause that’s close to the hearts of all our Centre Managers and educators.
